Geometric Patterns Workshop
Program objective
The Turkic World until now has not participated sufficiently enough in the field of geometric patterns, which takes an important place in Islamic Art. The situation had formed a contrast with a wealth of geometric patterns that we have in Turkey today. Therefore, from now on this program’s primary goal is to increase awareness about the vast field of Islamic Geometric Patterns.
With this awareness in mind, another important objective of the program is the formation of trained workforce that in time will make an analysis of geometric patterns.
In this context, the workshop program consisted of: subject discussion in a historical context, pattern analysis, and following the procedures of using methods for sampleplication to create a pattern from separate parts into one whole design.
